Therapeutic Indication
Indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections, including severe pneumonia, complicated urinary tract and intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, and acute bacterial meningitis.
Dosage and Method of Administration
Adults & adolescents:
- Usually 500 mg or 1 g every 8 hours, depending on the type and severity of infection.
- 2 g every 8 hours may be used for meningitis or very severe infections.
Mode of Administration
For Intravenous (IV) injection or infusion use.
