Therapeutic Indication

Prevention and treatment of blood clots after hip or knee replacement surgery, prevention of recurrent DVT/PE after at least 6 months of treatment, and prevention of stroke/systemic embolism in selected patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

Dosage and Method of Administration

  • Hip/knee replacement: 2.5 mg twice daily; first dose 12–24 hours after surgery.
  • Recurrent DVT/PE prevention: 2.5 mg twice daily after at least 6 months of initial treatment.
  • Non-valvular AF: 2.5 mg twice daily when dose reduction criteria are met.
