Therapeutic Indication
AZYREX is indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including respiratory tract, skin and soft-tissue infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections.
Dosage and Method of Administration
Adults: 500 mg once on Day 1, followed by 250 mg once daily on Days 2–5.
Pediatrics:
Acute otitis media: 10 mg/kg/day for 3 days, or 30 mg/kg as a single dose.
Acute bacterial sinusitis: 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days.
Community-acquired pneumonia: 10 mg/kg on Day 1, followed by 5 mg/kg/day on Days 2–5.

Pediatric: 20 mg/kg once daily for 3 days (max. 500 mg/day); alternatively, 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days or 10 mg/kg on Day 1 followed by 5 mg/kg/day on Days 2–5.
Mode of Administration
- For oral use only.
- Administer only after reconstitution of the suspension.
Directions for reconstitution:
Shake the bottle to loosen powder. Slowly add freshly boiled and cooled water up to the mark on the bottle and shake vigorously until all the powder is dispersed.
